Mettler CPA PLLC

Mettler  CPA was established in 2012 as a result of watching elderly friends and  relatives struggle with even the most basic tasks:  Paying bills,  filing a timely tax return, remembering where their money was invested,  converting investments to monthly income, and figuring out how to sign  up for Medicare and Social Security.  What seems to be a simple task can  be overwhelming in old age, particularly for people with dementia.

Mettler  CPA wants to help you prepare a solid financial foundation for your  senior years.  We do not sell anything other than advice.  If you feel  like you aren't able to maximize your investments due to lack of  financial know-how, please contact us!

Seniors face tough questions

People over age 50 face some of the most difficult financial decisions and situations of their lives:

  • How much money do I need to live in retirement?
  • How much can I withdraw from my savings/investments every month and minimize the risk of running out of money?
  • What are the tax implications of selling my investments?
  • How do I know if the person giving me financial advice cares about what is best for me rather than what is best for them?
  • What if I am no longer able to manage my own finances?  Who can I trust?
  • How do I talk to my children about money?  Do I trust my children, their spouses, and my grandchildren?
  • Who  will be the personal representative for my estate since I don't have any children or my children lack the expertise or desire to do the job?
  • What if I don't trust my children to manage my affairs or my estate?
  • What do I do if I don't know anything about my parent's financial situation and their health and minds are starting to decline such that I will be taking care of them in the next few years?
  • How can I help my dad handle his finances if he doesn't want to discuss it with me?
