Anne Mettler graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, specializing in Accounting. After a long career in engineering management with two Spokane high-tech companies, Anne felt strongly led to focus on Accounting with the ultimate goal of starting her own company. In 2009, she received a Master of Accountancy degree from Gonzaga University and went to work as a Cost Accountant/Analyst for a local manufacturing company. She obtained her Washington State CPA license in 2011 and started her CPA Practice in 2012.
Anne discovered the focus of her new business when she realized the complexity of decisions confronting people approaching retirement and the difficulty of dealing with financial matters once dementia is present. The people who are least prepared or able to make good financial decisions are expected to make very complex ones that affect the quality of their remaining lives. The grown children of the elderly and those approaching retirement don't always have the knowledge or skills they need to make good financial decisions. Anne genuinely wants to help those who need her and improve the quality of life of those she serves. She enjoys working with people of all ages, but has a special place in her heart for seniors.
Anne strongly believes in the benefits of saving and investing. She has informally advised friends and relatives for the past 30 years in the areas of investing, asset allocation, 401k's/IRA's, and making financial decisions with the tax code in mind. Having seen several vulnerable seniors "taken for a ride" by their trusted commission-based financial representatives, Anne is determined to provide high quality financial advice and help protect her clients from being taken advantage of financially.
An important part of Anne's work is to help seniors and their family members understand alternatives and help them make the best possible decisions. She also wants to help family members communicate with each other regarding financial matters to minimize the probability of family disputes over money, which can destroy relationships and tear a family apart.
Anne's strong Christian faith and relationship with our Creator came from being raised in a Christian home and in the Presbyterian church. She became a charter member of East Valley Presbyterian Church in Otis Orchards, WA in 1986, where she was the Financial Administrator, member of Session, and part-time organist and choir director. Anne has also served as a Tax-Aide volunteer with AARP to prepare tax returns for low income seniors.
Anne has been married to her husband, Jan Mettler, for over 40 years. They have two married daughters and three grandchildren.
